The globe
levitates magically between the polished silver-toned metal arm
silver molded base.
To help place the globe in the
proper levitating position, the lights
on the base illuminate when the globe is on the right spot.
The electromagnetic
suspended globe is an impressive high-tech instrument. A magnetic field sensor
permanently measures the height at which the globe sphere is suspended. The sensor controls an electronic magnet in the upper
part of the frame while checking the distance between the globe and
magnetic head.
